But I was lucky enough to find the “not so obvious” on Madison Avenue. Dressed in a high-waisted seersucker suit and worn knock-off spectator shoes, I spotted a mysterious Mediterranean character standing behind a re-purposed foldout table most likely used for poker games at BBQ’s on weekends.He sold almonds oddly. Plain ones, honey roasted ones, etc. But the almonds that kissed my palate were dipped in fine Gaulois chocolat and draped in ground Japanese Matcha. No adjective can describe what I felt at that moment. Instead of adjectives, life imitates tea, and inspiration births a memory in a cup. Roasted brown rice coupled with sweetTurkish almonds and Gaulois chocolate.
